So much is guaranteed when you make your life with a two year old:
You will have multiple moments each day when you think, "This is really going okay; it's working; and isn't she cute? And aren't I glad I'm here?"
You will have also have opportunities each to think, "Oh my god, this is awful; what are we doing wrong? How did our sweet child become a hellspawn? Put this child in daycare and get me out of here!"
I believe this juxtaposition is the explanation for popular books on zen and parenting.
