Hobson's Choice

Porn and Politics

The West Virginia State Legislature currently has before it a bill that would prohibit state workers from looking at porn on their office computers.

Can I ask the question? Can I just ask the one little question?

Is this really a law that we need? Are state workers agitating for their right to look at PORN at work?

I must quote my favorite moral philosopher, Chris A. Green, "WTF?"

However, the law will also ban using state computers for political campaigning. A law that can draw the connection between politics and pornography must have an important lesson to teach about the current state of American Democracy.
