Hobson's Choice

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the day from hell

A day that reminds you, "oh yes, that's what being the parent of a two year old is supposed to be like."

Frankly. Right now, it feels like parenting someone with borderline personality disorder. And that feels just wretched to say. Because you don't want to suggest that _your_ child bears a (passing, we hope) resemblance to some of the most ill, most difficult people in our culture.

Maybe it's just like living with a particularly whiny opera diva.

Today was definitely an unconditional love day. And that's the interesting thing about unconditional love: to feel these overwhelming feelings of love and compassion for someone who is behaving obnoxiously.

I never understood that before.
